This is crazy. There's a new Democracy for America meetup group being formed on meetup.com in Decatur, Indiana by someone who is following Glen Beck's 9 Principles and 12 Values.
DFA no longer uses Meetup.com to organize meetups, all DFA stuff now flows through the DFA website, and MyDFA, but meetup.com has never purged the master group page for DFA, and some meetup groups have continued to use meetup.com as an auxilliary communication channel because some people were more comfortable with it, and new people continued to find the group through it.
Is this case unique? Or is it happening in other states too? An email notified me of a new meetup group being formed, but I can't access meetup.com right now to check it out further.
Here's what the organizer has to say about the group:
This is a group for anyone in the Decatur area who agrees with most of the 9 principles and 12 values that radio host Glenn Beck has put together (www.the912project.com) AND who wants to work together peacefully to reform our government to mirror these principles and values.
The organizer is calling her group the 9/12ers, so in that respect at least she's not using the Democracy for America name.
